Four-part Swing Dance Progressive Workshops

• A - 11:30 AM - 12:45 PM: Part 1: Swing Dance Fundamentals
  (all levels, no partner needed). Not just for "beginners", this is essential skills for all levels of dancers - basic rhythms and style. In this first workshop, Nathalie and Yuval will lay out the important fundamental dance techniques and style that will be the building blocks for Saturday's workshops.
• B - 1:00 - 2:15 PM: Part 2: Cool Moves for 6- and 8-count Swing
  (knowledge of basics, no partner needed). Nathalie and Yuval will add some of their favorite cool social moves for both 6- and 8-count swing. You'll not only learn some great moves, but you'll pick up some smooth skills in switching between 6-count and 8-count swing.
• C - 3:00 - 4:15 PM: Part 3: Foundational Charleston Steps
  (all levels, no partner needed) Charleston is one of the foundations of swing dance. This workshop will give you variety on the dance floor and improve your social dancing.
• D - 4:30 - 5:45 PM: Part 4: Footwork, Syncopations, Slides
  (knowledge of basics, no partner needed). Now that you?ve got the fundamentals, here's your chance to put some style into it, add some great moves, improve your technique, and make it smooth.
• 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Dinner break
• 7:30 PM. Doors reopen with DJ music
  until introductory dance lesson begins.
• 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Introduction to Swing Dance with John and Sandra Tomeny
  Local dance instructors, John and Sandra Tomeny, will teach an introduction to swing dance for newcomers. This lesson is free with admission to the dance.
• 9:00 PM - Midnight: Swing Dance with DJ Spin Doctor and Guest DJ's.
  The evening will include a championship performance by Nathalie and Yuval.

Two-part Balboa Progressive, plus Dips & Tricks

• E - 12:30 - 1:45 PM: Part 1: Introduction to Balboa
  (all levels, no partner needed) This workshop is both for dancers new to Balboa and for experienced dancers who want to fine tune their technique, connection, and style. Like the first workshop on Saturday, this workshop provides important fundamental techniques and style that will be the building blocks for Sunday.
• F - 2:00 - 3:15 PM: Part 2: Variations & "Ad-lib" Balboa
  (knowledge of basics, no partner needed). Patterns and footwork variations with an emphasis on lead & follow technique will add variety, creativity, and style to your Balboa.
• G - 3:30 - 4:45 PM: Dips & Tricks for any Swing
  (knowledge of basics, no partner needed). This is one of Nathalie & Yuval's most popular workshops. But this year it's even more interesting because they will show you how you can use these dips and tricks both with Balboa and with other styles of Swing.
• 4:45 PM - 6:00 PM: Free Swing Dance w/ Swing DJ Spin Doctor
  We're not done yet! It's practice time. This is an important time to practice the moves you learned so you'll have a better chance of remembering them next week. This dance is open to everyone. You do not need to be a workshop participant to attend this free dance with Swing DJ "Spin Doctor".

Evening Dances: There will be a swing dance on Saturday night. Tickets for Saturday's dance are $8.00 (or included in weekend pass). Sunday night there will be a free DJed dance from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Accommodations: The closest hotel to Tracy Hall is the Norwich Inn, across the street. They serve a great Sunday Brunch and have a really nice micro-brewery pub on-site. A nearly complete listing of area hotels, B&B's and Inns is listed on the Hanover Chamber of Commerce web site.
